Sexual Health Victoria offers a medical abortion service via telephone consultation. We aim to provide access for those who may find it difficult to visit a clinic due to time, transport, physical mobility and concerns regarding privacy and stigma.
Please refer to our medical abortion and surgical abortion pages for more detailed information about your options.
Some circumstances restrict the type of abortion you can have and whether telehealth medical abortion will be suitable for you. If you are uncertain about your suitability or have any questions not answered here, please call the clinic and one of our friendly staff can assist you.
Currently, our new TEMAS service can only see clients who:
- Reside in Victoria
- Are 16 years old and above
- Have a pregnancy that is nine weeks (64 days) or under
- Have access to phone and internet services, have a valid email address and give permission to be contacted through these methods
- Fit the medical eligibility criteria for medical abortion
If you book for TEMAS and do not meet the requirements above, one of our friendly staff will assist you in discussing your options.
